As revenue and assets increase, nonprofits may move from Form 990-N to Form 990-EZ or the full Form 990, bringing more detailed reporting requirements and greater expectations around transparency, governance, and financial oversight. The article explains the basic filing thresholds, why these transitions matter, and how organizations can prepare by monitoring financial growth, maintaining strong records, and keeping policies and governance practices up to date.
